Yuzu, La Trattoria and Zócalo have opened in a new food court at Keflavík Airport, located in the departure hall. The food court is part of the opening of the east wing, which involves a nearly 30% expansion of the airport.

The Aðalstræti food court has opened in the departure hall at Keflavík Airport (KEF), adding three new dining options to the airport's offerings. The food court features well-known brands, including the burger joint Yuzu, the Italian restaurant La Trattoria, and the Mexican eatery Zócalo, so visitors are sure to find something to suit their tastes.

The food court is part of the opening of the east wing, which involves an almost 30% expansion of the airport terminal.

The food court was designed by the Icelandic design firm HAF Studio and is named Aðalstræti, a nod to downtown Reykjavík

One of Iceland's most popular burgers

Yuzu, one of Iceland's most popular burger joints, is now a well-known name with six locations: four in the capital area, one in Hveragerði, and the newest at Keflavík Airport.

At Yuzu in KEF, guests can enjoy the restaurant’s most popular dishes, as well as a special airport breakfast menu. Yuzu’s offerings are developed by renowned chef Haukur Má Hauksson and feature a diverse selection of burgers.

Authentic Italian atmosphere

La Trattoria offers an authentic Italian atmosphere and a wide range of dishes inspired by Italy’s diverse food cultures, with a focus on simplicity and high-quality ingredients. The restaurant first opened in the food hall at Hafnartorg and has since become a favorite among food lovers.

The menu at La Trattoria is curated by renowned chef Hrefna Sætran and restaurateur Ágúst Reynisson.

Healthy and fresh Mexican food

Zócalo offers fresh and healthy Mexican cuisine, with a menu featuring high-quality burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, tacos, nachos, and salads. The restaurant’s Icelandic connection comes through its owner, Einar Örn Einarsson, who was one of the founders of the popular Serrano chain. However, this marks the first Zócalo location in Iceland.

In addition to the new food court in the east wing, the arrivals area of the Duty Free is also set to expand. Later this year, a new waiting area, gangways, and gates will also be introduced. The east wing expansion represents nearly a 30% increase in the terminal’s size and is a key part of the airport’s future development.
