The development of a new airport hotel with 200 to 400 keys is part of the ongoing landside redevelopment at KEF. This development is guided by a feasibility report conducted by consultants, which determined the optimal hotel size as part of the planned improvements.Covered walking paths
The weather in Iceland can be unpredictable. In the forecourt of KEF Airport there are multiple pathways that lead to the terminal building and the plan is to build covered pathways to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers and others on their way to and from the terminal building.South Building expansion

A new building connecting the North and South Buildings is set to be the heart of Keflavik Airport. All passengers will pass through it; arriving, departing, as well as transiting passengers.New East Wing
The new East Wing will expand the terminal by 30%. The expansion improves luggage reception facilities in the new arrivals hall, adds four new gangways, two bus gates, and a larger dining area and duty-free shop.A temporary annex
A new temporary annex will house an arrivals border for passengers traveling to Iceland from outside the Schengen Area. This border expedites and improves the processing of passengers entering the region in accordance with new European regulations.Mike taxiway
A new taxiway at Keflavík Airport has been named Mike and was taken into use in the summer of 2023. The taxiway is 1200m long and 35m wide.
