The development of the Keflavík Airport forcourt area is taking this into account and is aimed at improving facilities for eco-friendly transportation, including cycling.

There is already a walking and cycling path connecting the airport to Reykjanesbær, and a number of employees commute to work by bike every day. After the construction, there will also be improved facilities for travelers to disassemble and assemble bicycles, storage cabinets for bicycle bags and bicycle parking for employees. Charging stations for employees' electric bicycles will also be offered.
