Work is underway to complete the fourth floor of the east wing, which will house office space for Isavia staff.
Construction on the fourth floor began last year, and it is expected to open by the end of this year.
This is a 1,450 square meter office space, which has been connected to offices in the North Building of the airport terminal by a walkway. In the attached video, you can see what the floor looks like now during construction.
Construction on the east wing itself began in 2021 and has been operational in stages. In 2023, a new arrivals hall and baggage claim hall opened, and earlier this year the first passengers passed through the gangways and bus gates on the second floor of the wing.
Going forward, the third floor will be used to welcome guests arriving in Iceland from countries outside the Schengen area.
