ORAT (Operational Readiness, Activation & Transition) is a methodology designed to ensure that, in construction projects such as those underway at Keflavík International Airport, everything is ready by a predetermined date. This applies to buildings, a wide range of systems and processes - and, of course, personnel.

Our customers, such as airlines, plan their operations well in advance. It is therefore essential to involve them and other stakeholders in the projects so that everything is fully prepared on schedule.

We decided to implement ORAT in the airport expansion project at Keflavík International Airport, and we hope that the experience gained will prove useful for projects undertaken by other organizations in the future, to the benefit of Icelandic society as a whole.
