Expansion opened to guests in October

The South Building expansion is expected to be completed by the end of September. After that, air quality measurements and a safety audit will be conducted, as well as tests of the aprons, gates, and the boarding and deboarding processes. The area is expected to open to airport guests in October.

The South Building is located south of the old terminal, which is now often called the North Building. The building was opened in 2001 and expanded over a decade later to handle increased passenger numbers and improve the passenger experience. Construction on the expansion began in January 2024 and includes an expansion of the building by 1,900 square meters.

The changes include significantly improved facilities for passengers, for example, with a larger waiting area, new departure gates, as well as an increase in restaurant and retail space.
