Construction on the interior of the south building in an area known as Stand 10 will be completed in early October. After that, a period of adjustment and training of staff will begin before the area is opened to airport guests.

The South Building is located south of the old terminal, which is now often called the North Building. The building was opened in 2001 and expanded over a decade later to handle increased passenger numbers and improve the passenger experience. Construction now began in January 2024 and includes an expansion of the building by 1,900 square meters.

The changes include significantly improved facilities for passengers, for example with a larger waiting area, new departure gates, as well as an expansion of the restaurant and shopping area.
